The Secret Garden

Written by Suman Golder
In the heart of Bengal, where the Ganges River flows and the sun dips into the horizon, lies a secret garden hidden from the world. This enchanted oasis is where my heart finds solace, and where I drew inspiration for my cocktail, The Secret Garden. As I wandered through Bengal's vibrant markets and lush gardens, I felt the weight of the world lifting off my shoulders. The scent of fresh flowers, the taste of exotic spices, and the warmth of the Bengali sun all blended together to create a sense of serenity and wonder. Inspired by the classic Tom Collins, I chose Tanqueray No. 10 gin as the foundation for my cocktail. This iconic gin is crafted with a perfect balance of botanicals, including grapefruit, orange, and lemon, which provide a crisp, citrus-forward flavor profile. The subtle herbal notes of chamomile and angelica add depth and complexity, making Tanqueray No. 10 the perfect canvas for my creation. I infused the gin which I call niri bili (means hidden) it’s make with dried strawberries and lavender buds, then mixed it with lemon juice and topped it up with soda water. Garnished with a delicate sphere of lavender caviar, The Secret Garden is a truly unforgettable drinking experience. As you sip it, I invite you to step into my enchanted world. Let the sweetness of the strawberries and the subtlety of the lavender transport you to a place of peace and tranquility, where the world slows down and the beauty of life is revealed
