The cocktail is inspired by World War 1. During the time, British soldiers were given rum ration which is basically a shot or 30ml of rum. I decided to use that as a base and use available spirit during the time which is DOM Benedictine as well as Martini Rosso with Elderflower syrup.

Ingredients

  • 30ml Aged or Spiced Rum Rum ( Flor De Cana 18)
  • 10ml DOM Benedictine
  • 10ml Martini Rosso (Sweet Vermouth)
  • 5ml Elderflower syrup
  • Orange rind

Steps

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a Boston shaker with 2 blocks of ice.
  2. Pour it over a small cocktail glass.
  3. Cut a strip of orange rind.
  4. Squeeze to release the orange oil.
  5. Drop the rind into the cocktail glass.
