1914
The cocktail is inspired by World War 1. During the time, British soldiers were given rum ration which is basically a shot or 30ml of rum. I decided to use that as a base and use available spirit during the time which is DOM Benedictine as well as Martini Rosso with Elderflower syrup.
Ingredients
- 30ml Aged or Spiced Rum Rum ( Flor De Cana 18)
- 10ml DOM Benedictine
- 10ml Martini Rosso (Sweet Vermouth)
- 5ml Elderflower syrup
- Orange rind
Steps
- Mix all the ingredients together in a Boston shaker with 2 blocks of ice.
- Pour it over a small cocktail glass.
- Cut a strip of orange rind.
- Squeeze to release the orange oil.
- Drop the rind into the cocktail glass.
