Dante's Inferno

Written by Carl James
Poetry but not like you know it. A real inferno - no puns here.

Ingredients

  • Bumbu rum, Edmond Briottet Creme de Banane, Velvet Falernum, lime, pineapple, coconut, Peychaud's bitters & cinnamon

Steps

  1. Add all ingredients (except Falernum) to shaker.
  2. Pour Falernum directly into Tiki Head.
  3. Place vessel onto fireproof tray, surround with 151 rum and ignite.
  4. Shake cocktail. Shower fire with cinnamon and pour the cocktail through the flames.
  5. Extinguish. Add cubed ice, finish with crushed ice. Add 2 sprigs of rosemary and flame them so they glow and smoke.

I'm Carl James, a professional mixologist from Middlesbrough, Durham. I practice my craft at Cavello's. Stop by and see me sometime!

I'm 29 years old. MMA and BJJ by day, cocktails by night. I love exploring the realms of possibility, seeing what I'm capable of seeing how far that can go. I find certain things intoxicatingly fascinating and when do, I want to know everything about it. After learning about cocktails while living in California, I felt it was something I needed to explore and that's what has brought me to where I am today. I'm still adventuring in this world of liquor, mapping it, recording findings and experimenting with its resources. My hopes are to share this with as many people as possible and have a good time doing it.
